It’s those little things in life that make the biggest difference.
Those simple pleasures, such as a warm bed after a long day, or that sneaky bit of chocolate. Or a random act of kindness.
Even the smallest of actions have so much of a positive effect on us. And sometimes we just don’t appreciate those moments of pure bliss enough.
I’ve just realised how such a little thing can make such a huge difference to your day. These things are everywhere, like tiny sparks scattered here and there, brightening up your day, just when the light is fading.
I must say, it is a broad topic. Simple things, such as spending time with yourself, or baking cookies give you oh so much pleasure, but what brings us more joy is the actions people partake in every day to make us feel loved and worthy.
I want to say how we should recognise these occasions, and cherish them, because these spontaneous moments happen ever so rarely.
They make us feel special, make us feel loved. We all love that warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s like a safety blanket, wrapped around you, lifting your spirits.
As Barbara Pym once said – “The small things of life were often so much bigger than the great things”
So I encourage you to create one, small spark for someone else. Go brighten up their day. Brighten up anyone’s day – whether it’s a loved one or a total stranger, a schoolmate or a work colleague.
Go on. I dare you.
